Paul calls for more help for local High Streets and says shop local this Christmas

Tuesday, 15 December, 2020

Following a really enjoyable day of Christmas shopping in Botley High Street, I took the opportunity to ask the Government for ongoing support for our town centres and high streets as we recover from COVID-19. Having spoken to a number of entrepreneurs and businesses recently, I am also clear that if we want to keep a thriving local shopping offer, we need to make the decision as shoppers to spend our money locally and back the small businesses in our communities.

I have also launched a campaign to Back Businesses and Boost Jobs which will look at what more we can do to locally to encourage people to use our town centres and high streets and develop what they currently offer.
